Workplace Injury Care in Thunder Bay
(WSIB Programs of Care)

An on-the-job injury can affect much more than just your workday. It can make it harder to move comfortably, sleep well, stay active, and keep up with everyday responsibilities at home. Whether the injury happened suddenly or developed over time, getting the right support early can help you feel more confident about what comes next.

In Ontario, injured workers may be eligible for chiropractic care through the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). Our clinic welcomes patients with workplace injury claims and provides clear, supportive care focused on recovery, function, and a safe return to work.

Injuries We Commonly See

Work injuries can look very different depending on the kind of work you do. In more physically demanding jobs, lower back and mid back injuries are common, especially when lifting, twisting, or repetitive bending is involved. In office settings, people often come in with neck, upper back, and shoulder tension related to posture or repetitive strain.

We also see concerns involving the elbows, wrists, and shoulders from repeated movements over time. Slips, falls, and other workplace accidents can also lead to more complex injuries, including head impacts and concussion related concerns that need careful assessment.

Your First Visit

Your first appointment is focused on understanding both the injury and how it is affecting your day to day life. Dr. James DiGiuseppe begins with a detailed history, followed by a full examination to assess movement, function, and the areas involved. This helps us build a care plan that fits your needs and supports your goals.

Because WSIB claims require documentation, there may also be forms and questionnaires to complete during this visit. Our team helps guide that process so you know what to expect and feel supported from the start.

A Care Plan Built Around Recovery

Every patient’s situation is different, which is why care is always tailored to the individual. Our goal is to support recovery as fully as possible while helping patients return to work safely and with confidence. For many workplace injuries, care begins within a structured WSIB Program of Care that supports progress over the first several weeks.

Some patients recover within that initial time frame, while others may need more support depending on the nature and severity of the injury. If additional care is appropriate, we can help guide the next steps and continue coordinating the process clearly.

Support With the Process

Trying to manage an injury is hard enough without also having to sort through paperwork and workplace communication on your own. Our team is experienced in helping patients navigate the WSIB process in a way that feels straightforward and manageable. We help with documentation, communication, and the steps involved in keeping everyone informed.

That may include discussions around modified duties, time away from work, or a gradual return to regular activities. Throughout your care, we want you to feel informed, supported, and reassured that your recovery is being taken seriously.
